Every character wants something — and, much like a game, there are stakes to winning or losing. This session explores how objectives, shifting power and changing tactics can create impulse, keep a scene alive and raise its dramatic energy.
A short scene will be sent in advance to learn, allowing us to put the technique into practice in the room and explore how the ‘game’ shifts moment by moment.

What happens between casting brief and the final choice? Join casting director Tree Petts for a moderated Q&A about how actors are found, remembered, and how casting decisions take shape.
This moderated session is a chance to hear directly from Tree about her work across commercials and screen, followed by time to ask your own questions about auditions, self-tapes and the casting process.

Irene O’Mara’s voice and accent credits include ITV’s Holding, The Glass Menagerie at The Everyman, and Enda Walsh’s upcoming 30th-anniversary Disco Pigs. She lectures in acting and voice at MTU Cork School of Music and will lead two hours of practical General American work through breath, melody and text.
In the third hour, Paul Wilkins will help each actor put that work on record. Using dedicated recording equipment, they’ll perform the material developed with Irene and leave with a high-quality General American voice recording for their professional profile.
